Law Creating Teacher Leader Endorsement
The bill creating the teacher leader endorsement in New Jersey (P.L.2015, c.111 (A-448 (Jasey, Diegnan) / S-165 (Whelan)) was signed into law by Governor Chris Christie on September 18, 2015. This law creates opportunities for teachers to lead from their classrooms in non-supervisory positions. The law also establishes an 11-person panel charged with defining the role of teacher leader for the state of New Jersey.
